Beginning August 27, 2018
BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport station is undergoing renovations beginning August 27. During this time, the station will be closed, and customers will use a temporary station.
The temporary station is located directly behind the current facility and includes staffed ticket offices, Amtrak Quik-Trak ticketing kiosks, an ADA accessible seated waiting room and restrooms. Amtrak ambassadors and uniformed Amtrak and MARC conductors will be on the platform to assist customers between peak travel hours during the week of August 27 - 31.
Passengers will still have access to the stairs and elevators to reach the southbound track but will need to use either the new walkway or the other walkway in front of the station building. Allow additional time to walk to the train, especially during peak hours to the southbound platform.
The taxi pick up location will be outside the temporary station and service to MARC and Amtrak trains remains unchanged.
Station renovations will include new customer amenities such as a new canopy, three new larger restrooms, an updated waiting area and entrance space as well as additional improvements to the roof, HVAC, plumbing and station exterior.
